Congress Reacts To Trump Verdict

Donald Trump is the first American President to stand trial and be found guilty in a criminal case. The New York jury has found him guilty on all counts in his hush money case. He could face four years in prison depending on the judge's sentence, which will June 11th. He is guilty of falsifying records before the 2016 election to hide payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Donald Trump is asking his supporters to join him in a "fight for America." After he was found guilty on all counts in his New York hush money trial on Thursday, Trump posted a video on social media asking people to join what he called "the final battle." He told his supporters he wants to "demolish the deep state," "expel the warmongers," and "drive out the globalists" from the country.

Senator Ed Markey tweeted: "Trump is a convicted criminal".

Congressman Seth Moulton says yesterday was a sad day in American politics with the convictions of former President Donald Trump. Moulton says Trump has spent his entire career walking on and over the line of legality, and it was only a matter of time that he would face justice. He also says it's not a time for Democrats to gloat, as the convicted criminal is still a front runner for the presidency.
