The new Cape and Islands Bridges Coalition is advocating for the full funding and replacement of both the Sagamore and Bourne Bridges.
The Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce formed the CIBC in response to business and community concerns regarding the 90-year-old Cape Cod bridges.
More than 35 business and community leaders want to ensure that the bridges are replaced in a timely and fiscally responsible with minimal adverse impacts on the regional community.
The latest estimates indicate the total cost for the two bridges to be replaced is about 4 and a half billion dollars.
Some of that money is already in place.
