Harwich officials should have an answer this afternoon on whether the town's drinking water is safe to consume.
A Do Not Drink order was put in place for the public water supply, after residents reported their drinking water had an odd color and appeared foamy.
Fire officials say foam used to put out a fire in Dennis on Tuesday may have contaminated at least part of the water supply.
The foam used is biodegradable, and does not contain P-FAS, or forever chemicals, but should not be consumed.
Flushing of the water system has been undertaken, but for now residents should only use bottled water for drinking, cooking and brushing teeth.
Test results are expected by 5 pm.
