Joint Base Cape Cod is testing the potential of a new, all-electric aircraft.
The Alia made its first landing at the 102nd Intelligence Wing of the base for a demonstration on Friday.
The craft is completely battery powered, and used the same type of fast chargers which power EVs.
The Air Force has been considering the use of the Alia for cargo and rescue operations.
The plane is quieter due to no engine, and the propellers are located in the rear of the craft.
Officials say the plane could be used to cut short trips from hours to minutes, with reduced cost.
