A Barnstable County grand jury has indicted a Falmouth dentist and his practice on charges of filing false Medicaid claims and theft of nearly 200 thousand dollars.
The state Attorney General's Office says Dr. Marcus Swann and Direct Pay Dental billed MassHealth for procedures done by dental hygienists or assistants, including examinations, although these are required to be performed by a licensed dentist.
This allegedly occurred between 2017 and 2022, and the defendants also billed for services that were not provided within that time frame.
