A special town meeting takes place on Thursday in Dennis, where residents will be asked to consider the purchase of a property that once served as a church building.
The Dennis Port property was used as a seasonal place of worship and is currently owned by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fall River.
The purchase of the building and parking lot would potentially be converted to parkland and open space.
The asking price is two-point-three-million dollars, which the town would pay for out of available cash.
