The proposal by a New Bedford company to provide freight service to Martha's Vineyard is being closely examined.
41 North Offshore currently provides services to Nantucket, but Tisbury officials are concerned about the potential increase in truck traffic on local roadways.
The company also has not provided an impact study, regarding what their presence would bring about.
Public comment on the issue has been extended through Friday and may be directed to Robert Davis at the Steamship Authority.
