Plymouth Man Faces Prison Time For Pandemic Relief Scam

A 41-year-old Plymouth man faces a decade behind bars and a very hefty fine after pleading guilty in a pandemic relief fraud scheme.

Ferris Brooks admitted to submitting applications for government benefits in 2020 for a fake business and then listed the names of his friends and family as employees to score even more federal Covid relief money.

He siphoned about 150-grand in payments into his own bank accounts and then shared some of the proceeds with the folks whose names he used.

Brooks will be sentenced in May.
