Outer Space New Home For Loral O'Hara

A longtime Cape researcher is now conducting her work from space.

Loral O'Hara served as a research engineer at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution for seven years, with a focus on underwater vehicle operations.

After two years of astronaut training, O'Hara directed operations for NASA in Russia and has been on the International Space Station since September.

O'Hara leads the Cipher research project, which encompasses individual studies of the psychological and physiological effects of long-duration space flight.

She plans to return to Earth in April.
