The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority will put its free ride policy in place, effective Thursday.
Riders over age 60 and those with disabilities may ride for free on seven fixed routes.
The program is designed to ensure safe and reliable access to public transport.
Participants may use their current Charlie Card ID to access the free travel, with a new Go Card to replace it in the future.
An estimated 85-thousand Cape residents are 60 or older.
