Boaters and other users of a popular channel in Bourne are being warned that dredging will not take place there this year.
The south channel of Bassetts Island at Cataumet is the busiest channel, with nearly one thousand vessels moored in the area.
Barnstable County officials say the time it took to secure approval for a ten-year permit, weather, and other concerns will keep dredging from happening in the channel, but that the south channel will take priority in 2025.
