A Hyannis nonprofit is working to assist those with disabilities to live independently.
The Cape Organization for Rights of the Disabled is one of only ten centers that offer such aid statewide.
The problem for those with disabilities is that they age out of special education programs when they turn 22.
CORD Director of Services Cathy Taylor says the agency works with young adults on skills development and career assessment and offers several programs to allow those with disabilities to live and work on their own.
