The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority is making fixed-route bus travel free for adults over age 60, as well as the disabled.
Effective February 1st, the schooled for 15 Cape Cod communities will be free, thanks in part to a 500-thousand-dollar MassDOT grant.
The hope is to make the free service indefinite.
CCRTA instituted free travel on Wednesdays several years ago, and the authority is looking to better serve the aging Cape population.
