Governor Rewrites Requirements For State Jobs

Governor Maura Healey has issued an executive order that removes a college degree requirement from most state job listings.

Healey's order seeks to have state hiring managers use a skill based approach to choosing candidates for open jobs.

Healey says removing the degree requirement will expand the pool of applicants and bring in more talent.

She says over time, the policy change will help the state to build a more inclusive, skilled workforce.
