State Senate Bans Cats From Being Declawed

The Massachusetts Senate has passed a bill that would ban the declawing of cats and other similar procedures.

The measure would allow for cats to be declawed only when deemed medically necessary by a veterinarian.

In most cases, cat owners seek to have their pets declawed to reduce damage to furniture.

The bill now moves to the House for further consideration.
