Officials Survey Local Damage Of Storms

Officials and residents of Cape Cod and the Islands are assessing the damage from the second winter storm to strike the region in a matter of days.

Low-lying areas were flooded, as were roads across the Cape, including in Hyannis, Falmouth, Dennis, and Provincetown.

In Edgartown, a culvert on Atlantic Drive collapsed due to ocean waves.

South-facing beaches took the brunt of heavy surf and high winds.

Rainfall totals ranged from one and a half to two and a half inches across the Cape.

Wind gusts of 65 miles per hour were logged in Chatham and Dennis, and 64 mph in Wellfleet.

More rain and wind is expected this weekend.
