Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren said she respects Claudine Gay's decision to resign the presidency at Harvard University.
Gay stepped down last week over alleged plagiarism and her testimony before a congressional committee regarding campus anti-Semitism at Harvard.
In a weekend interview with Channel 5, Warren claimed conservative activists pressured Gay to resign.
She said universities should follow their own policies when facing difficult decisions.
