Vegetation Removal To Continue In Wellfleet

Landscaping that includes the removal of dead trees, shrubs, and other vegetation in the Duck Harbor section of Wellfleet is expected to continue into the winter months.

Cape Cod National Seashore announced that more than 80 acres were cleared between last winter and spring, and at least 40 more acres need to be removed.

The vegetation was killed due to the over-wash of salt water from Cape Cod Bay.

The Seashore and Ducks Unlimited have partnered in the project, which also aims to promote the growth of native salt marsh vegetation and diminish the breeding ground for mosquitoes.
