State, Fed Continue Investigation Into Local Threats

The Martha's Vineyard Hebrew Center was one of about 20 synagogues targeted by a bomb threat over the weekend.

Officials say the threat was sent by email, and received Sunday morning in Vineyard Haven.

Only about five people were in the center at the time, and they evacuated. A search of the building turned up nothing.

Most of the synagogues were in the Boston area or the eastern part of Massachusetts.

The non-profit Secure Community Network reported nearly 200 false threats against Jewish centers across 14 U.S. states on Saturday alone.
