The Cape and Islands weathered Monday's storm with the expected heavy rains, downed trees, and outages to thousands of customers.
The bulk of the outages hit during the midday period from 10 am to 2 pm, with power companies reporting outages in the tens of thousands.
High winds forced the Steamship Authority to cancel most of its trips to and from Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.
Those wind gusts ranged from a high of 59 miles per hour on the Vineyard to 62 mph on Cape Cod, and 66 mph on Nantucket.
