Bill Filed That Helps Commercial Fishermen

A bipartisan bill introduced in the U.S. Senate could assist commercial fishermen.

The Working Waterfront Protection Act, sponsored by Maine Senator Susan Collins and Jack Reed of Rhode Island would set up a grant program to assist waterfronts in coastal states, including Cape Cod.

Under the measure, 20-million-dollars annually through fiscal year 2028 would be provided to support waterfront operations, in the face of economic pressures, climate change, and gentrification.
