Massachusetts State Police are confirming what they call the “active duty” death of a 41-year-old trooper.
Sgt Gregory Furtado worked out of the Cape and Islands District Attorney Detective Division. He was a seven-year veteran of the department.
State Police say, “he spent his entire career in service to - and the protection of the public.”
The trooper leaves behind a wife and children.
Neither police, nor the D-A have revealed the circumstances behind the trooper’s death.
Funeral arrangements have not been released yet either.
