Governor Maura Healey's administration says for the first time, the state budget has sufficient funds to cover 100-percent of tuition for currently enrolled nursing students in community colleges.
Healey's secretary of education shared the news on Tuesday at Holyoke Community College.
This year's budget is also covering the cost of community college tuition for residents who are 25 years old and up.
