"The Old Ladies" Hard At Work This Summer To Clean Up Canal

The Old Ladies Against Underwater Garbage team was at it again this summer.

The Enterprise reports the volunteer organization, which consists of women ages 64 to 83, teamed up with the Save Mashpee-Wakeby Pond Alliance to clean up the Upper Cape body of water last month.

A group of divers went to the bottom of Mashpee-Wakeby to dig up all sorts of items, including fishing poles and a car battery.

The Old Ladies were founded six years ago, and their mission now includes cleaning ponds from Falmouth to Brewster.
