Brockton Man Pleads Guilty In Driving School Scam

The Department of Justice says Estevao Semedo, the owner of the Brockton driving school who pleaded guilty to bribery charges related to a licensing scam, has been sentenced.

Prosecutors alleged Semedo paid a Registry of Motor Vehicles worker to issue driver's licenses to people who had failed a road test or had not taken one at all.

He pleaded guilty in April to a single federal count of conspiracy to commit honest services mail fraud.

Semedo has been sentenced to six months in prison, followed by one year of supervised release.
