Lower Cape Ambulance Blames Staff Shortages For Contract End

The Board of Directors for the Lower Cape Ambulance Association has decided to end operations by September first.

The decision came after the board was told the nonprofit could not fulfill its emergency services contracts with Truro and Provincetown because of staff shortages.

The nonprofit was founded in 1937 to provide emergency medical services for Provincetown, Truro and Wellfleet.

Provincetown officials say they plan to hire additional EMTs and medics in the next few weeks to continue serving the community.
