The Orleans Board of Health is considering more serious penalties for tobacco sales violations at a local gas station.

The Speedway on South Orleans Road was cited last month for selling to a minor, the second such violation this year.

Under state law, that citation carries a fine of two-grand, which is now more than two weeks overdue.

If it remains unpaid when the health board meets on the 17th, the panel could go as far as pulling the store's tobacco products from its shelves for a time.
