The lawyers for Jack Teixeira argued Monday he should be released from jail.
They pointed out in Worcester, Massachusetts court that Teixeira is charged with the same federal counts as former President Trump, whose release was not opposed by prosecutors.
Back in May, a judge ruled that Teixeira, the Massachusetts Air National Guardsman who was stationed on Joint Base Cape Cod, posed a continued threat to national security and would be held in jail while he awaits a trial.
Teixeira has pleaded not guilty to federal charges that he leaked sensitive Pentagon documents on social media.
