The Massachusetts Senate has passed a 590 million dollar tax relief bill that will triple the septic tax credit to 18 thousand dollars, double the lead removal tax credit and raise the threshold of the estate tax to two million dollars.
It will also allow cities and towns in the state to opt into a property tax exemption program if they keep rental units affordable year round.
Those three measures were pushed for the legislative session by State Senator Julian Cyr.
The measure must now be reconciled with a House version of the measure and then sent to the Governor for her expected signature.
