State emergency management officials are reminding C-and-I residents to get all their ducks in a row in case of a hurricane.
The Atlantic hurricane season officially kicked off last week and runs through November.
MEMA says everyone needs to know their evacuation zones and prepare emergency kits.
They should include water, non-perishable food, flashlights, batteries, first aid supplies and blankets at the very least.
MEMA also suggests that families create an emergency plan together that includes a central meeting place and ways to contact one another if separated.
