You can look forward to lower energy bills this summer.
Summer energy supply costs are due to drop for Eversource customers in Massachusetts. the energy company says that beginning July 1st, basic service customers will see a roughly $58 decrease on total monthly bills in eastern Massachusetts, About a $42 decrease in western Massachusetts.
In Massachusetts, the energy supply price changes twice a year: on January 1st and July 1st - representing the cost that Eversource pays generators for the power that customers use.
Eversource says it does not earn a profit on the cost of electricity.
The State must approve the request which was filed late last week.
