Gov Taps Former Worcester City Manager As Housing Head

Former Worcester city manager Ed Augustus has been named by Governor Maura Healey to become state housing secretary.

The newly created cabinet position was formed by Healey to address the state's significant housing issues.

Augustus served as Worcester city manager for over eight years before stepping down last year.

Healey says Augustus is a leader with a strong background in local government who will help move the state's housing goals forward.

She said that under his administration, Augustus helped create thousands of housing units across many different income levels to the betterment of the city.
