State Fire Marshal, Local Officials Seek Cause For House Explosion

There's absolutely nothing left of a home that exploded in Truro.

At least two explosions were heard shortly after 11:30 Thursday night that led to a massive three-alarm fire that required the help of nearly every water tanker across the Cape.

The explosions were heard and felt by Cape Codders more than 20 miles away and they reduced the place to splinters, leaving rugs, a mattress and other debris in the treetops

The place did use both oil and propane, but how those fuels played a role is up in the air as investigators work to pinpoint a cause.

The owners were staying in a cottage behind the main home and were left unhurt.
