New Fees For Ride Share Companies In Martha's Vineyard

The Martha's Vineyard Airport Commission is requiring ride share companies to now pay a three-dollar-50-cent fee to pick up passengers.

The Martha's Vineyard Times reports the decision stemmed from an update to state law last year which allows municipal and county airports to impose such a fee, not just those operated by the Massachusetts Port Authority.

The update was supported by state Senator Julian Cyr and Representative Dylan Fernandes as a way to provide revenue for airports on the Cape and Islands.
