The Barnstable County Fair opens today at 4pm. The weeklong event takes place at the Cape Cod Fairgrounds in East Falmouth, The Fair, which is presented by the Barnstable County Agricultural Society began in 1944 and was only shut down once: in 2020, because of the coronavirus pandemic. The General Manager tells the Cape Cod Times there were about 70-thousand visitors last year, which was a record. Another big turnout is expected this year.
