Barnstable High Students Dismissed Early Due To Staff Shortage

Barnstable High School students were dismissed before noon on Friday because of a large number of staff absences.

Superintendent Meg Mayo-Brown said about 30% of the school's employees were out for a variety of reasons, including personal days and Covid infections.

Mayo-Brown said the main reason for the early dismissal was the concern that there was not enough staff present to ensure the safe transition of students between classes.
