A multi-million dollar expansion is being recommended for Provincetown’s fire department.
The town hired a consultant to take a look at the current facility.
He said a new five-bay fire station should be built to augment the main facility on Shank Painter Road.
The bigger facility that would be built on Jerome Smith Road is needed due to the size of today's fire trucks.
The consultant added that if the new station is built then the town could close the stations on Johnson Street and Commercial Street.
