The Steamship Authority tabled discussion Thursday on a proposal to ship ups freight to Nantucket on a barge this summer.
The alternative option came to light after the shipping company slipped up and neglected to book the space it needed on the Steamship Authority ferry schedule.
The SSA Board of Governors expressed support for the proposal yesterday, but requested more information from New Bedford-based 41 North Offshore on financing and other issues.
