Chatham Airport Holds Public Session On Tree Removal

The Chatham Airport Commission is hosting a public workshop to inform residents about an upcoming tree removal.

Commission officials say trees are obstructing several runway approach paths, posing safety concerns and putting the airport out of compliance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations.

The workshop aims to help the public better understand why the trees are being removed.

Commission Chair Huntley Harrison says "transparency" and "public awareness is necessary with matters concerning the airport."
