UPS has partnered with a New Bedford based marine towing company to help bring delivery trucks over to Nantucket this year.
Jonah Mikutowicz, the owner of 41 North LLC, says they plan to make 70 round trips this summer using a 130-foot barge.
The barge can carry up to five UPS tractor trailers at a time.
The SSA will vote on 41 North’s application on April 19th.
The trip will take eight hours each way overnight.
The trucks will have then have to be offloaded on the island then returned to New Bedford.
