Mashpee Delays Sewer Expansion Project

The town of Mashpee is briefly hitting pause on a sewer expansion project.

The Select Board voted last week to pull a spring town meeting article which would fund the 25% design plan for the second phase of the project.

Officials say phase 2 will connect over 2,000 homes.

There was apparently confusion over a request for proposals.

Mashpee Town Manager Rodney Collins said everyone supports clean water, but the town wants to make certain it is ready to proceed.

This comes as two members of the Mashpee Sewer Commission resigned.
