A man is in the hospital after suffering a sudden mental health emergency in Barnstable.
A woman called police early Monday morning to report her husband was experiencing hallucinations and carrying a loaded firearm.
First responders learned shots may have been fired while on their way to the home.
Officials believe the man may have snapped out of his delusion after firing the gun.
He was reportedly calm and cooperative as officers safely got him to exit the home unharmed.
He was taken to Cape Cod Hospital after all weapons were secured.
