A man is in custody after allegedly kidnapping four people at gunpoint before bringing police on a high-speed car chase.
Falmouth police say 32-year-old Bryan Purdie arrived at a home on Carriage Road early yesterday afternoon with a gun, fired a shot then held four people at gunpoint.
When a woman tried to flee, Purdie allegedly forced her at gunpoint into his car.
That prompted a high-speed police pursuit through Falmouth as he weaved through traffic, hit another car and passed a school bus letting the kids off.
Police eventually tracked Purdie down and arrested him.
He faces numerous charges and is being held on $50,000 cash bail.
