Bill Filed At State House Proposes Mandatory Electric Vehicles

A bill has been filed at the State House that would make electric cars mandatory in Massachusetts by the year 2035.

An Act Relative to an Electric Transportation Future would ban the use of gas-powered cars in Massachusetts.

State Rep. Joan Meschino filed the house version of the bill.

State Senator Brendan Crighton supports that bill and filed similar legislation that bill would require the MBTA to operate a fully electric bus fleet by 2030.
