Woman Charged In Vineyard Animal Abuse Case

A woman is being charged with animal abuse on Martha’s Vineyard.  

The MV Times reports the Cape and Islands District Attorney's office is accusing Laura Maciel of starving a horse she owned that was seized from Tashmoo Farm in Tisbury.  

Maciel has been granted bail but has been ordered to stay away from the horse and the farm.  

The animal cruelty charge was filed after an investigation was conducted by the MSPCA.
