Fishermen Ordered To Remove Equipment Near Chatham Airport

Commercial fishermen are being told to remove their gear from a vacant area of land in Chatham that has been used for that purpose for decades.

The town has asked the fishermen to remove the gear near the Chatham Airport runway by November 19th.

The FAA reportedly deemed the storage area a safety liability because it was attracting wildlife.

In a letter to the fishermen, town manager Jill Goldsmith said no other property in Chatham has been identified as a new storage site at this time.
