There's an update on a beach erosion-control project on Nantucket.
The Inquirer and Mirror reports the Sconset Beach Preservation Fund has agreed to dismiss its Superior Court appeal of the Island Conservation Commission's denial of a 2018 expansion plan.
The preservation fund says that will allow it to focus on quickly developing a new joint application with the town to expand its project.
They say the public-private partnership will serve as a model for addressing other challenging coastal erosion situations on Nantucket.
