Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod Rescues Man Near Long Island

A Coast Guard crew from Air Station Cape Cod rescued a man who was injured by a stingray barb this past weekend. 

A crewman on a fishing vessel about 40 miles southwest of Montauk, Long Island was struck by a stingray barb below the knee and was showing signs of shock Sunday evening, according to the Coast Guard. 

The patient was transferred to Rhode Island Hospital and was listed in stable condition. 

The fishing vessel was home-ported out of port Judith, Rhode Island.
