Henri Has Been Downgraded To A Tropical Storm

As of 7:00 a.m., Henri has been downgraded to a tropical storm, as winds are now sustained at 70 mph.

However, the storm will still pack a powerful punch as it makes it’s way toward landfall in New England, most likely on the southern Rhode Island coast.

For us on Cape Cod, the big issues we’ll be focused on are the high wind, storm surge and flooding possibilities.

NBC 10 Boston’s First Alert Weather for Cape Cod is warning that tropical storm wind gusts of 40-50 mph are possible as the storm moves through our area.

Wave heights off the coast of the Cape have been increasing over the past hour or two. And due to the weather, ferry service to the islands have been suspended.

As of this moment, there are no widespread power outages across the Cape, but we will be watching that closely as well.
