Jury Deliberation Begins In Latanowich Trial

A jury began deliberating Tuesday in the trial of Thomas Latanowich, the man accused of murdering Yarmouth Police Officer Sean Gannon in 2018.

Authorities had a warrant for Latanowich's arrest when they arrived at his Marstons Mills home.

Latanowich, who was dealing drugs at the time, claimed he was in the attic of the house hiding from people who had shot at him.

He said he didn't know he shot a police officer.

Cape and Islands Assistant District Attorney Michael Trudeau told jurors in closing arguments that Gannon made clear announcements that the police were present.

Deliberations will continue Wednesday morning.
